Course Name: From Creativity to Innovation: Developing Design Thinking Skills in Healthcare

Objective:
The main objective of this course is to enable healthcare professionals to adopt a human-centered approach to solving complex health problems. It aims to enable participants to identify shortcomings in the healthcare system and produce sustainable, innovative solutions to these problems, not only through technical medical knowledge but also by empathizing and developing creative strategies. The course aims to provide competencies that will lead to "digital and process transformation" in healthcare by combining theoretical knowledge with an innovative perspective.

Target:
Participants who successfully complete the course are expected to achieve the following:

  • Empathy-Based Approach: The ability to effectively use observation and interview techniques to deeply understand patient and healthcare worker experiences.
  • Redefining the Problem: The ability to transform complex health problems into solution-oriented "questions" (How can we do it?) by getting to their root causes.
  • Creative Idea Generation: Developing numerous and diverse innovative ideas using brainstorming techniques, breaking away from traditional patterns.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Gaining the ability to create low-cost and rapid prototypes, test proposed solutions in real-world field conditions, and improve them through feedback.
  • Building an Innovation Culture: Laying the foundations for a collaborative, non-hierarchical, and error-averse innovation culture in healthcare institutions.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Creating a common design language with stakeholders from different disciplines to produce multi-dimensional solutions.
